August 14, 2008 - - “Don’t make those silly faces Eric,” my mom would exclaim,” or your face will get stuck like that.”  The threat worked on me a couple of times until I spent two hours in my room one day making faces in front of my mirror which seemed to bring on no negative repercussions.  This was not the only thing my mom or dad was adamant about.  Dad would say things like “Making Cs in school is just middle of the road.  Middle of the road people don’t amount to much.” These statements and predictions, though some silly, did quite a lot for my own personal motivation as I grew up.  More
